The fact of the matter is that Texas is doing better than almost every other state. Politics is not about one person, it’s a collaborative effort and it’s about negotiations, compromise and Quid Pro Quos.
Perry deserves some credit and some criticism, nothing less and nothing more. It’s not easy running a state that is larger than many countries.

A recovery in employment is seen as the biggest obstacle to a rebound in the economy and the unexpected increase in weekly unemployment claims Thursday is providing a reminder that a recovery will be difficult.
The Labor Department says unemployment claims rose 8,000 to a seasonally adjusted 480,000 last week. Economists had predicted claims would drop to 460,000.

I have associates up east who own trucking and warehouse companies, there are lots of carriers chasing after less freight, that is a result of a slow economy, pretty much economics 101 happens every time the economy slows down. And the brokers are feeling the squeeze the most and must reduce their cut to stay in business. There are also lots of local “hotshot” companies chasing after less packages to deliver, that is why I continue to get buy out offers in their attempt to grow via the purchase of their competitors. Now is a great time for a price war to push the competition out of business and capture more market share.

I have friends who own trucking and warehouse operations up in Jersey and they tell me business is slow, I know some guys who haul over the road stuff and they tell me business is slow. Are you stating that business is real good?? If so then what about your comment below:

Too many carriers chasing too little freight and brokers will continue to get squeezed out because there is less money in each deal, that is a simple fact of life. Hopefully it will balance itself out over the long haul when some trucking companies go out of business and the economy picks up.

Anyone with half a brain knows when the economy is slow the president has very little control over it in the short term, it is called a cycle some are worse then others. This downturn was predicted long before Obama was elected and would be the same if McCain was elected.

But I guess he had to go a different job because business is real good instead of real slow, my mistake. So I guess my friends are the only people who’s trucking and warehouse business is slow, and that includes imports and exports. In fact a family member works for a Chinese container company, some position in global logistics and they also told me things are a bit slow especially outbound empty containers, guess they don’t know what they are talking about either.
So don’t comment about LST or Texpanties or business, or Katfish will jump at you because you are stupid and all wrong. Sounds like someone is retaining lots of water.
